Mr. David Welch has worked in education for over forty years engaged in a myriad of roles - teacher, coach, administrator, academic presenter, and collegial collaborator. He served as a Principal in a variety of communities such as East Hartford, Wethersfield, Ellington, and Manchester. His greatest attribute as an educator lies in his ability to engender excitement for learning and create a positive, systemic framework resulting in an educational climate characterized by trust, high morale, and mutual respect. From teaching at all grade levels (K-12) as well as his instructional work at the college level, Mr. Welch has garnered both State and local prestigious educational awards. He holds a Master’s Degree from Clark University and a Sixth-Year Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut. Mr. Welch resides in Vernon with his wife Ginny. He has three grown children: Colby, a helicopter pilot and officer in the United States Army; Logan, a graduate from the University of Connecticut, working in the emergency room at Hartford Hospital; and Teagan, a graduate of East Carolina University and previous television producer and presently involved in public education in North Carolina. All three adults are successful and happy graduates from Manchester High School!
